The impeller blade goes between the upper impeller housing and the lower impeller housing. This part is sold individually and is made of plastic. This is an OEM item sourced directly from the manufacturer and used in blowers made by Ryobi, Troy-Bilt, Yard Man, MTD, and Cub Cadet. You may need a screwdriver, a socket set, and a set of pliers when replacing this part. It may become broken and will need to be replaced.

    Blower impeller was broken

    Disassemble the blower housing replaced the broken blower wheel reassembled the blower housing tested the blower. The unit works like new.

    The impeller center hub wore out

    Remove both sides of case remove hub nut, (had to use an impact gun) remove old impeller and hub nut.
    Install new impeller and hub nut and re assemble case, taking care to keep starter handle in place.

    Impeller was worn out

    1.Removed side cover and pulled engine and impeller from other cover.
    2.Remover impeller and installed new impeller and torqued it.
    3.Replace side cover and torx bit screws.

    Center of impeller blade broke away from blade.

    Disconnected spark plug wire, emptied gas tank, removed plastic case, removed broken impeller blade, installed new blade using socket, reassembled case, attached spark plug wire, filled with gas, started with no hesitation. Reviewed self-repair video on Internet.

    Impeller center broke at bolt

    Split case in half and removed broken impeller. Installed new part and put case back together. Very easy. Shop told me it would cost more to fix than it was worth. Cost me $22.00. They would have charged $150.00. Very happy with the way things worked out.

    1. Took off outer casing.
    2. Took broken impeller off drive shaft.
    3. Installed new impeller and put back outer casing.
    4. Finished in just over 15 minutes.
