This OEM gas range oven ignitor starts the burner in your oven. It does this by drawing electrical current through the oven safety valve, which then opens to create a flame for heating. Made of metal and ceramic, the ignitor comes with wire leads featuring a pin connector and two male spade breaks. It is typically found near the rear of the oven, on the side of the burner assembly. Signs that it is time for a replacement include inconsistent or delayed ignition, uneven heating, or the smell of gas during operation. You can also perform a continuity test on it with a multimeter. To replace the ignitor, remove the oven door and the oven racks. Remove the bottom panel and lift it to access the ignitor. Release the burner shield and then remove the wire cover. Disconnect the ignitor wire connector and remove it. Install the new ignitor by aligning it on the burner tube and securing it with the mounting screws. Finally, reassemble all the components in reverse order. Please note that this ignitor is sold individually.
