Broke cordless Makita drill housing

William - July 8, 2017
Tool Type

Cordless Drill

Difficulty

Medium

Removed internals and transferred into new casing. Original screws were mostly seized and had to be drilled. Replacement screws used were #4 X 16mm. Alignment of all internal components critical in order to avoid interference with trigger function (exercise trigger during replacement of all screws to avoid binding). New housing a perfect fit, thanks ereplacements!

I laid the broken drill on its side, screws up.
The 12 or more screws were taken out and the upper side was removed.
Lay the new bottom half next to the old unit lifting the drill out at one time and transfer it to the new half.
Make sure all locator tabs are locked into the new half and lay the upper new half on to the bottom clicking it together.
