My blade would not track correctly, and I found the drive wheel missing the key and screw to secure it.

Steve - June 14, 2017
Tool Type

Band Saw

Difficulty

Easy

Time

Less than 15 minutes

Tools Used

Wrench Set, Metric wrench or adjustable

The drive wheel key and left hand screw were missing, so the blade was not stable and would not track well.
I removed the lower (driven) wheel and pushed the key into the keyway. Then I reinstalled the wheel and screwed in the left hand bolt and tightened it down.
I should have also purchased the washer (even though I felt it was REALLY overpriced for a washer) because it is not simply an 8mm washer... it is 8mm ID and extra wide OD to span the opening in the wheel to hold the wheel onto the shaft. I was lucky to have a washer that fit, otherwise I would have been running out to the store hoping to find what I needed! Buy the washer!

Overall a very easy repair and my saw is running great again.
