This is a genuine Char-Broil replacement part, it is not an aftermarket imitation. The metal heat shield is sourced from the original manufacturer to be used with outdoor gas grills. This item fits under the fire box and is used to deflect heat away from the tank area. The heat shield is sold individually.

Thermometre did not work. Two electrode dis not work. Bottom heat shield was rusted out

1. Remove underside heat shied; unscrew electrode and replace with new ones. Install new heat shield.
2. Remove heat shied inside the cover.
3. Remove art work and thermostat. Note: you need to remove art work to remove thermostat. A/work is held by push nuts. Once removed you need to purchase new push nut to reinstall.
