It is an authentic OEM sourced item which is specially produced for use with Shimano spinning reels. The handle attaches to the side cover and is made out of plastic and metal. No tools should be needed when replacing this part. It will require replacing if it becomes broken. This is available as an individual replacement part.

    Dog ate the handle

    Removed old handle, replaced with new handle, availability was the key, I was not able to find them anywhere else. Thank you for having this product, now I am back fishing, no dogs.

    The bail was corroded next to the roller and the line kept getting stuck. The handle looked weathered compared to the rest of the reel so I replaced at the same time.

    Removed the screws on each side.
    Removed the bail
    Installed the new bail assembly with the old screws.
    I had some trouble getting the old handle off until I removed the cap on the opposite side.
    Inserted the new handle screwed in the cap.
    The parts came quickly and as described.
