This gear box is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is designed for the Bosch DDS181 Cordless Drill. This gear box transfers power from the motor to the chuck in the form of speed and torque. The drill would not be able to function without this part. It is sold individually and does not include the switch (part 2609100897).

    Pulled out old gear drive
    Inserted new gear drive
    Screwed drill back together

    Remove the battery. Remove the screws from the housing and separate the halves. Make a note or take a picture are located inside the housing. Carefully lift the old gear box from the housing and motor. Noting how the gear box fits into the housing. Install the new gear box line up the gears in the gear box to the gear on the motor. Make sure all of the parts are in place. Then screw the housings together.

    Off center bit/chuck

    , T-bit screwdriver, skinny and long

    Removed screws, removed side plate. Pulled chuck from gear/motor. Remove and replace. Take care of wires and their connections. Everything will tighten up and seat better after you replace the plate and tighten. Careful, I easily broke one screw head. Too many and your drill gears wont seat properly.

    Removed screws and pulled apart . Removed old gear box . Took my time and cleaned everything inside . Installed new gear box . When putting halves together making sure everything is in its slot or routed correctly . Snap closed and reinstalled screws . Tried it out and worked perfect .

    Took out 100 screws (LOL) pulled side off, took out old gear box, blew dust out of drill, put in new box, put back the screws.
