Less than 15 minutes

Tools Used

Screwdriver, Common sense!

1) Toasted the death of this mighty lil heater with a glass of red wine... and then another. It was a good lil heater and I wanted to give it a proper send off... plus it was cold in the office. I thought a second glass of wine would help fend off the cold... It didn't :-(

2) I quickly Went to ereplacementparts.com,
3) looked at all the available parts to my heater,
4) Opened up my heater (after pulling the plug (pun intended)). My heater died... get it?
5) Disconnected the fuse
6) Placed the leads of the volt ohm meter across the terminals (no continuity)
7) I Diagnosed the fuse to be the problem... or my volt ohm meter battery died, but nonetheless...
7a) I connected the 2 fuse leads together and turned the heater on... it turned on.
8) I unplugged the heater (again) and set the heater aside.
9) I had another glass of wine because the next step was a toughy
9a) I Ordered the heater fuse from ereplacementparts.com.
10) The fuse arrived a few days later. GREAT! Let's celebrate with a glass of wine!
11) I had another glass of red wine before I conducted surgery.
12) I placed the patient on the table, reopened him up, installed the new fuse then closed the patient back up.
13) I held a second glass of red wine up to the heater gods for its fate was in their hands now....
14) I plugged him in and took one last swig of wine, then poked both buttons with a sturdy forward lunge of my index finger and.... IT'S ALIVE!
15) This called for yet another glass of red wine...
16) I then collapsed to the floor from too much wine and then basked in the warmth of my newly resurrected heater pal.

The part only cost me about $5 US, and the wine.... about $75.
That's about what I would have paid if I took it to an appliance repair, so I broke even.

And a good time was had by all!
(especially me)
