Product Description

?

This is an OEM replacement part and is sold individually. Its propose is to deliver an electric current from an ignition system to the combustion chamber of a gas fueled engine. It will ignite the air fuel mixture by the spark. Spark Plugs will usually have to gapped to the manufactures specifications found in the owners manual. Over time a Spark Plug will become fouled because the air/fuel ratio may be set wrong, worn piston rings, carbon build up and other factors. It is better to replace a fouled spark plug, rather then trying to clean it.

1. All parts provided by eReplacementParts.com were the right ones and worked perfectly. I bought from this site, since the prices were better than the local prices, and I did not have to drive from store to store, like last year. I keep a spreadsheet record, of repairs and costs.
2. I write down the model number and serial number, of each machine.
3. When ordering, write down the part numbers, that are assigned to each replacement part, and to which machine, the part belongs.
4. I Replaced spark plugs, air filters and fuel filters in the Echo and the Poulan.
5. I always start the plug installation by hand, in order to prevent cross-threading, which will ruin the head. A mechanic taught me that trick and I have never cross-threaded a spark plug. Torqued plugs, as per Original Equipment Manufacturer\'s (O.E.M.) specifications.
6. The air filter medium for the Poulan must be oiled, per OEM specs.
7. The spring-tension clamp that holds the fuel intake line to the fuel filter is really hard to remove, on the Poulan blower. I used needle-nose pliers with the curved plier ends. (I used YouTube instructions, again.)
8. I replaced an air filter in Honda Mower (had a new plug) and oil, in March. Will change oil again in June (Mid-season, here, in Texas).
9. I installed new mulching blades, on my Honda self-propelled mower. Originally, I installed the blades backwards. I searched YouTube and found instructions, by a Honda mower technician. The blades cut properly, now.
10. I mixed new 2-cycle oil with gasoline: I gallon for the Echo and 1 gallon for the Poulan. Each 1-gallon tank was mixed in the ratio recommended by the O.E.M specs.
11. Everything runs well.
Note: I am not a trained small-engine technician, but if I can find YouTube, or repair manuals to tell me how to do repairs, I am not afraid to try. If I\'m not sure about something mechanical, I phone a relative, who is a master mechanic.

Ethanol in fuel dissolved my fuel supply lines over time.

It all started with the purge bulb failure on the bottom of the carburetor. I replaced that first and couldn\'t draw any fuel into the bulb. I then realized that the rubber fuel line and grommet and pretty much dissolved. I disconnected the two lines connected to the carburetor. loosened the screws holding the handle and removed the fuel tank from the Shred n Vac. I then removed all the fuel lines, filter and vent from the fuel tank and replaced all of the components. I then proceeded to reinstall the tank with the two screws tighten the handle and hook up the fuel lines to the carburetor. I replaced the spark plug and air filter element, purged some fuel to the carb and within two pulls hand it running like a charm. One note I would like to make is that I utilized a dab of grease to hold the two back washers for the fuel tank to the tank to ease re-installation of the fuel tank.

Tools:
Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set
1. Removed all engine covers and bad parts
2. Removed engine from trimmer mounting
3. Completely cleaned entire assembly before replacing parts
4. Cleaned magneto & flywheel. reinstalled magneto and checked spacing
5. Installed new fuel lines in new tank with new tank grommet
6. Reassembled all clean parts. < br />7 Filled tank with fuel/oil mix. tested engine and adjusted carb as needed.
8. After the test my neighbor\'s weed eater was broke and asked to borrow mine. It ran like new and he wanted to keep it but returned it after a few hours.(NOTE) There is almost no air gap adjustment between the flywheel and magneto. too close, the magneto could scrape the flywheel. too far and you get a weaker spark.

Remove the old fuel line grommet along with the fuel return line, fuel line and vent line. Make a diagram of where they hooked up to. Install the three lines into the grommet leaving the same amount of line coming in and out of the grommet as was o n the old one. Install the fuel and tank vent on their lines. Insert the fuel filter into the tank, then put some oil on the grommet and install it on the tank. Place the fuel and return lines back on the carburetor. And place the fuel tank vent on the vent line Remove the screws from the primer cover and remove the old primer and and cover install the new primer, then the new cover. Remove the air filter cover and remove the old air filter, then place the new one in and replace the filter cover. Remove the old spark plug, gap the new one at 0.026 and torque it to 130 in. lb.
