    Waiting for additional part
This was ordered with part #5140086-64 Both parts arrived but the other part ordered was not the part pictured on the site and not the part that was needed to finish the repair. I have reorder the correct part Fan Cover (5140086-59). This part does have the same picture as the originally ordered part. Original part number 5140086-64 needs to be updated to show the correct part pictured. As such I have not yet been able to complete the repair and unable to fully review the quality of the replacement parts received at this time.

Fan blade and fan cover broken while sanding plastic. A glob of plastic broke off and hit the fan.

    Woodrow - November 28, 2019
    Tool Type

    Sander

    Difficulty

    Medium

    Time

    15-30 minutes

    Tools Used

Screwdriver, Sandpaper, snap ring pliers, bench vice and 1/2\\

Disassembled and found a bad bearing also. The bad bearing had also damaged the shaft.
Fan Housing not available - original cracked but usable. Used snap ring pliers to remove snap ring over bearings. Used 1/2" drive socket that fit the bearings and used bench vice to press old bearings out. Note: Save the spacer between the bearings for reassembly. Had problem putting new shaft through new bearings. Sanded shaft lightly until fit was adequate and lubed the shaft and bearings to aid in the assembly process. Used socket and vice to press shaft through installed bearings. Used hammer and socket to gently center the bearings on the shaft and housing for best rotation. Easily done. The new fan blade fit to the new shaft was also a bit tight but with some careful and gently tapping it went on and the screw pulled it into place. Remainder of the assembly was straight forward.
