Description:
This is a Genuine OEM replacement part used on Walk Behind/Push Mowers. This Cable Assembly consists of a Metal Wire Cable with Z-Type bent ends, Rubberized cover/body and a Plastic Clip. The Blade Control Cable is the cable that stops the blade when the control handle is released on Walk-Behind Mowers. If the cable is broken it will cause the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed.

I looked to see how the old control cable was mounted. Then I removed broken control cable and replace it with the new one.

Engine Zone Control Cable Broke
Removed old cable by prying handle bar retainer clip off with screwdriver. Snapped new cable with retainer into place and tied to handle with a couple of plastic wire ties.

Lawn mower engine zone control cable
Removed old z-end of cable from top handle
Cut all zip ties holding in place
Removed old z-end from motor control brake
Installed new cable z-end into motor control brake
Used zip ties to secure cable to handle
Installed new cable z-end into top handle
Pulled handle, pulled engine start cord
Mower started right up

Cable to the safety bar broke.
Used pliers to remove the clip on the engine, a screwdriver to pry off the mounting clip on the handle bar. I used a zip tie I had on hand to keep the wire attached to the handle bar.

Cable broke
Removed broken cable by removing the top of the engine cover, and installed newly purchased cable. Replaced the engine cover and attached the snap in the holder on the handle and connected the cable end to the handle. Simple job.
