| This is a genuine item is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Murray lawn mowers. It is the cable that stops the blade when the control handle is released. If the cable is broken it will cause the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. It provides an identical replacement for a missing or a faulty component that was installed on a new unit. Old cable wouldn't work
Put the t end in the handle, used pliers to move the spring to put other end of cable in, put a couple of ties on cable to hold it to handle.

Engine shutoff cable/lever missing
Replaced engine stop cable and the stop lever bracket and lever due to being missing. Also had to get a replacement spring for this assemby. After all the missing parts were at hand, and then reassembled, the mower works like new.

Engine stop cable broke
1. Remove old cable assembly head by pulling it out of pipe frame
2. Unhook cable end at the top
3. Unhook cable end at the bottom using needle nose pliers to compress cable sheath clips
2. Reverse to install new cable assembly.
