I replaced most of the most of the parts of the inside of the grill including the igniter box.

Replacing the grates and deflectors were easy. The hardest part was replacing the igniter box. I had to disconnect the supply pipe by removing the the knobs and the screws under them that hold it in place. That was the only way for me to take it out. Now I have almost a brand new grill.

I searched U-tube videos for a Electronic Ignition Module (EIM) replacement and didn't find one that reflected the exact steps required to replace and install a new module in my type of grill, a Char-Broil 463420507. My grill's physical design placed the EIM module, sandwiched between the burner control valve gas distribution bar and the grill. It was obvious to me that the effort to do this would/should include refurbishing the inner parts of the fire box including the rusted burners, and heat shields/tents and electrodes. To replace the EIM one would have to gain access to the EIM by removing the aforementioned distribution bar held in place by 4 brackets with 8 screws only after removing the rusted burners with a drill to remove the rusted screws. First I removed the lid of the grill and the grates and warming rack. I found that the easiest way to gain access to the EIM problem would be to remove 4 nuts and bolts holding the entire grill top to the supporting cabinet, then lifting (with help)and flipping the result on its back to work on the problem from above instead of below. I tested the EIM to verify that it sparked before reattaching the grill to it's supporting cabinet. Spent about $50, but it was cheaper than buying a new grill.
