Recently got a job in home remodeling and have never used a nailer before that. My bosses nailer broke and we both started trouble shooting what went wrong. Though I've never used it, I've always been good at tinkering, so I tinkered the nailer apart and found a broken metal piece that I later found out was a driver unit. Anyways, boss threw the nailer away, saying it would cost too much to repair and would be cheaper to buy a new one. I asked him if I could have the broken one and he said yeah. Went home and Googled the part, found it for $20ish on ereplacementparts.com and ordered it that night. Few days later it arrived and I began the replacement:

First, in the back of the nailer there are 4 hex nuts which I used the appropriate Allen wrench to undo. Once the last nut is off the back piece kind of springs off, so be careful to secure it or catch it. There are also several plastic/metal pieces that come off so be sure to remember the placement and order for reassembly. After that, the driver unit, which is a silver metal cylinder piece with a long skinny flat black metal piece attached (it's what actually hits the nails), slides out with gravity but you may have to unlatch the nozzle in the tip of the nailer gun and unscrew the 2 hex nuts so you can stick something into the front to push out the broken driver unit. Once removed, place the new driver unit in exactly as the old one was removed then put it all back together. Easy Peasy!
