Chuck was broken no longer would open or close

Center screw would not loosen had to drill head off. didn't drill far enough was afraid I would ruin shaft of drill. Screw broke off in end of shaft when I tried to unscrew chuck. Removed broken screw with a small chisel and a hammer. when I looked at the parts I had removed I could have drilled a lot deeper without ruining anything. What I learned is be sure to order a new screw when you order the chuck. Putting it back together took about 10 minutes piece of cake.
