Joe - May 20, 2016
Tool Type

Trimmer

Difficulty

Easy

Time

15-30 minutes

Tools Used

Screwdriver, Wrench Set, needle nose pliers, carb cleaner, clean cloth

Remove air cleaner, unhook throttle cable, unscrew throttle cable from bracket, disconnect fuel lines (2), unscrew 2 large screws at air cleaner plate (they hold everything to the motor body). carefully separate carb from the air plate and large screws. Place carb on clean cloth, open packet of parts (Helps to download and print carb blow apart pic from parts website). remove 4 smalls screws from bottom of carb, gently separate sections of carb, removing both sets of gaskets/diaphragms. Gently clean with carb cleaner spray. DO NOT touch lever on metering needle as adjustments are tiny movements. Reassemble following picture from website, watching correct placement of the flexible diaphragms, 2 small locator post match hole in parts, diagram will show which sides are up/down, reassemble in reverse order--don't over tighten as screws will strip in aluminum body.
