Typically, these parts are situated within the anvil assembly of the impact wrench. If you notice that the detent no longer effectively secures attachments or if the spring has lost tension, it is a sign that these components need replacement. To use the kit, carefully disassemble the anvil section of the impact wrench according to your user manual. This usually involves removing the anvil retaining ring or cover to access the internal components. Once you have access, punch out the retainer pin, detent, and spring from their respective positions within the anvil assembly. Pay attention to their orientation and order during removal, as you will need to reassemble them correctly when replacing or these parts. Keep in mind that this genuine OEM replacement kit is sold separately from the anvil itself.
