This deep-groove ball bearing is located between the armature and bearing bracket and is compatible with multiple model-types. Friction occurs between the rotating shaft and the part that supports the rotation. The bearing helps to reduce friction and allow for this rotation to be much smoother. Over years of use it is common for this bearing to wear out and require replacement. This 9mm bearing is sold individually and sourced directly from the original manufacturer.

Putting it back together is the important part of the process, getting a clear blowup of the sequence of reassembley is the key to a successful repair. Also the older Bosch tools not sure about the newer tools can be repaired because they were made to last. This particular tool was purchased about as long ago as I have been a contractor which is a long time ago, 30yrs, so a lot of use and many jobs turned out great due to the quality of the tool made me a better craftsman. So I wouldn't want to be tossed due to a few worn parts.
