Failed to open up the motor.
Realized I just need to buy the whole motor.
Looked on eBay for part -- wasn't available, and wasn't sure what I was buying would fit.
Went to this site, and it was crystal clear what model motor I needed, and there were great diagrams.
Had trouble locating the spot to reassemble the metal gear clicker.
I found a video, I think through your message boards, that did the trick.
You guys rock!!

Replaced motor and pan head screw

Allan - May 8, 2016
Tool Type

Cordless Drill

Difficulty

Medium

Time

15-30 minutes

Tools Used

Screwdriver

Remove all screws on the one side of the drill. Separate the case halves. Pull up motor assembly. Disconnect the motor wires. Install new motor. Reconnect wires making sure red wire is connected to the terminal with red dot. Replaced pan head screw that attaches it to the plastic plate. Reinstalled motor into planetary gear train. If a little metal clip about a quarter inch wide and one and a half inches long falls out when you open the case halves, it goes back under the drill torque know to keep it from slipping when you change the torque sttting. Reassemble the case halves back together and reinstall the screws
