Waring Pro has manufactured this Coupling for many models of blenders. This Coupling is used to drive the blades in the blender jar. To remove this part you will need to hold the blade in place and turn the coupling counter clockwise. The flat side of the coupling needs to install facing the bearing. The Coupling can also be purchased included in the Blending Assembly (part number 007314W).
