    Removed engine cover to gain access to ignition coil. Removed old coil and installed new coil. Set coil clearance gap using a business card between the coil and flywheel.

    No spark

    1. Remove three 10mm nuts to remove recoil starter and gas tank.
    2. Remove kill switch wire and sparkplug lead.
    3. Remove coil using 9mm and 10mm wrenches.
    4. Reverse procedure to install. Used a business card to set air gap between coil and flywheel.

    Would not start.no spark at plug

    Socket set, Adjustable Wrench

    Remove 3 nots that hold tank and pull cord.
    Remove ground connection to coil.
    Remove the 2 screws holding the coil.
    Remove the coil
    Install the new coil spacing it about 1/8"
    Reconnect all.

    Mouse chewed through plug wire attached to coil.

    REMOVED ENGINE COVER TO EXPOSE FLYWHEEL AND REMOVED ROPE PULL RECOIL ASSEMBLY. TOOK OLD COIL OFF AND REPLACE WITH NEW COIL AND SPARK PLUG WIRE.

    Engine still would not start - no apparent spark or just an intermittent spark. Gave up and working a replacement engine.

    reassembled engine shroud
    tried to start - no ignition
    same problem as before
    would not even pop with starter fluid sprayed into intake
    gave up - working replacement engine

    Followed instructions on a you tube video. Video did not show the correct alignment of coil. Initially installed upside down. Be sure to take picture of old one before removing.

    No fire to the plug

    Fairly simple to repair with correct tools. Had to remove engine mounting bolts to spin and access the front as the frame encompassed the engine. Removed pull start assembly, removed and replaced part and gapped the new ignition coil. Reassembled and it fired right up. Many thanks to ereplacementparts for quick shipment and having the correct part. They are my go to source !
