This is a genuine Bostitch replacement part that is sourced to be used with air compressors. Check valves are used to allow air to pass from the cylinder to the tank and to restrict the air from flowing back from the tank. When a check valve fails the motor will attempt to engage but the pump will not start up, and this can cause a humming sound. Eventually, the strain on the motor can cause it to overrun. This check valve is available as an individual replacement part.

Replaced check valve, elbow and tube. had to use a 5/16 X 1/4 inch drive socket to get 2 bolts out and a screwdriver to remove screws
