Description:
It is a genuine OEM supplied item that is designed for Briggs and Stratton engines that are commonly installed on a variety of lawn and garden equipment. A carburetor is an important component which mixes the air and gas before it is sent to the engine. Difficulty starting, rough idle, high idle, false-start, no-start, excessive fuel consumption, fuel leakage: these are the signs of a carburetor in decline. When they begin to multiply, it might be wise to change the entire assembly. Check the owner's manual for your model to ensure the correct repair procedure. This is a complete assembly which includes the carburetor and the necessary gaskets to ensure a tight fit. A wrench set will be needed to replace this component.

Question: Carburator

Sstein6

Trying to figure out the white nipple coming off the right side of carb. When I press priming bulb fuel is release from this nipple , the nipple is just above the fuel line coming from gas tank, this is on a Briggs engine 8P50
Hello Sstein6 Typically that white fitting is to prevent a flooded carburetor from allowing gas to flow to the point it enters the engine unmetered and eventually ends up in the crankcase. It is supposed to flow OUT of that fitting if it is. I am pretty sure the priming bulb is an air pump, not a fuel pump, but not sure if the white fitting has a one way valve in it or not. The bulb blasts a small jet of air into the carb float bowl, splashing gas UP into the the main nozzle. The main nozzle protrudes into the carburetor's throat, allowing for a rich fuel mixture in a cold start. So, it is currently possible that the carb float, fuel needle, or needle seat are in need of repair or replacement, (as they all regulate gas flow into the carb) or there may be a valve in the small white nipple and it is not closing like it should, but I do not think it has one.
