Product Description ?

This replacement self-stop carbon brush assembly is specially designed for Milwaukee hammer drills. Because carbon brushes are wear items, meaning that through friction and use they will gradually wear away, they will eventually require replacement. It is recommended to replace both brushes at the same time. It is sourced directly from original equipment manufacturer and it is sold individually. This assembly includes (1) carbon brush in a metal brush holder with a lead wire and a spring attached.

You will need a screwdriver and pliers to complete this job.

• First remove screws holding the cover together
• Separate the halves of the housing
• Remove the old brush assembly
• Install the new brush assembly
• Reassemble and test your tool

    Beats buying a new drill.
This is the second part I purchased for my Milwaukee Hammer Drill. It takes a beating. First time I had to replace the trigger. a Year later the motor brushes. Both parts found here at Ereplacementparts. Spent total of about $25 together and the drill is as good as new. Beats buying a new one.

Exact replacement to restore my drill.
The two brushes for the drill came in quickly. They were installed in about ten minutes. The drill stopped working from an original brush failing. After installing the drill took off just like it did when it was first bought. Milwaukee is a great product and such an easy repair prevented me from throwing away the drill.

    Worn motor brushes

Symptoms indicating need for repair: Hammer drill motor didn't start when trigger pulled. Motor did start when trigger held and other hand used to smack the tool. When running, excessive arcing seen through the motor cooling vent slots.

I removed the screws on the handle to permit separating the two halves of the handle and get access to the brush holders. Discovered copper cable detached from the top brush and after removing the pressure plate, I could see that the top brush was worn so much that it would no longer contact the armature reliably. When the parts arrived, it was pretty straightforward process to remove the old and install the new. One precaution for the particular hammer drill model I repaired concerns black spacer pads and silver cylindrical components that fit in the halves of the handles. Be sure to look for them when disassembling the tool and replacing them during reassembly.
