Medium 30-60 minutes (1 rated repairs)?

The self-propelled feature of mower stopped working

    Tool Type

    Engine

    Difficulty

    Medium

    Time

    30-60 minutes

    Tools Used

Screwdriver, Pliers, Power Drill, Socket set, Wrench Set

Took pictures of existing connections to help with re-assembly
Matched position of bottom nut on existing cable with new
    Placed mower on side
Removed top nut that held existing cable in place
    Removed cable from cable ties
Existing cable was held in-place with a compression/friction washer. This was in a difficult location. After a number of tries, cut inner cable, pulled it out from housing, then drilled end of cable housing to release the compression/friction washer
Placed new cable in place and threaded it through bottom of mower housing
Pulled cable through hole, then slid the new compression/friction washer over end
Aligned cable end and pushed compression/friction over end to hold it in place. Took a bit of playing to get this done due to the tight work space.
Connected "S" loop at end of cable to clutch bracket
    Stood mower upright
Threaded cable back to clutch handle
Connected end and tightened nut to hold cable in place
Checked all connections, started mower and tested.
    It worked 1st time!
