The brush holder is what holds the carbon brushes in the correct position on the armature so electricity can be transferred to it. If the carbon brushes are worn, it is always recommended to also check the condition of the holder and replace it as necessary. Sometimes the carbon brush holder just needs a good cleaning with electrical contact cleaner. Usually the brush holder only requires replacing if the drill motor has overheated, causing the brush holder to melt or warp. Please note that this is a single carbon brush holder and is an OEM sourced part.
