After 20+ years of using my Braun 405, the plastic at the point of insertion finally cracked. The blade has s small metal counterweight in the top piece that connects the shaft to the rotating mechanism. This fell out of my old blade a long time ago, but I only realize now looking at the new blade that this is when the old one cracked. Eventually the entire top piece came off and then split. This blade is a drop-in replacement; the only prep work necessary was to take the protective plastic casing off the blade. Braun 200W Type 4-185

This was a straight replacement of the removable blade in my Braun hand blender's chopper accessory. Sharpening the original blade also removed the stainless finish which caused the blade to rust immediately.
This part fit perfectly and now I don't have to buy a whole new hand blender!

This was just a matter of putting the pieces together. Pieces that are meant to come apart for cleaning purposes . So no tools necessary. Glad I was able to get replacement parts as it's not possible to buy this model any longer.
