This is an authentic Simplicity replacement part manufactured for use with snowthrowers. The special belt is used to link the motor and auger shaft. Belts can wear out over time and eventually need to be replaced to maintain the snowthrower. It is recommended to clean the pulleys when installing the new belt to ensure the longevity of the new belt and this belt is sold individually.

1. Ordered replacement belt.
a. Simplicity Part Number: 1701257
b. Replacement ordered had slight PN deviation - 1701257SM
2. Installed according to operator's manual.
3. Idle tension is loose and belt comes off pulleys when not engaged.
a. Idler pulley adjustment is as far as it can be moved on it's shaft.
b. Adjusted drive control lever tension (increased) slightly.

1. Tilted snow blower forward.
2. Removed bottom panel.
3. Took out old belt.
4. Put in new belt.
5. Put bottom panel back on.
6. Returned snow blower to upright position.
7. Adjusted pulley wheel.
8. Put cover back on.

Auger belt was worn out

I removed the inspection cover, removed auger drive belt pulley and belt keeper, slipped old belt off , I also replaced drive belt cause I was in there . There was enough room to slip both belts off without removing any more items , installed both new belts and inspection cover. My old work horse of a snowblower is working like new. Belts were perfect fit and came in a timely fashion. Thank you sincerely SWB
