Skil Saw Model No. 5585 Bearing Plate Replacement
*I recommend Purchase of new Retaining Snap Ring (Part No. 1619X00667) with Bearing Plate
Refer to Parts Diagram
1. Remove Lower Blade Guard (33)
a.Using Torx T30 bit remove Screw(50), Spacer(49), and Rubber Plug(48)
b.Using small screwdriver, remove Clip(46)
c. Remove Spring Washer(45), Nut(44), and Lever(35)
d. Remove Retaining Snap Ring(36). See You Tube Video "Smalley Spirolox Retaining
Ring Removal-External Shaft" for instructions.
2.Remove Bearing Plate(26) by removing three Screws(27) with Torx T20 bit
3. Lube Gear Shaft and reinstall Bearing Plate and Lower Blade Guard (reverse of removal).

1. Remove blade and washers.
2. Remove spring clip from shaft
3. Remove blade housing from motor.
4. Remove armature from housing.
5. Remove worn parts
6. Clean up and grease up.
7. Replace armature while keeping brushes apart.
8. Fit new bearing plate
9. Fit Blade cover
10. Fit spring clip to shaft
11. Reassemble all other parts
