The lead screw went right in and attached the handle. Bearing I had to remove the bearing cap and loosen the set screws in the belt pulley. Then took a rubber hammer and knocked out the spindle. Took a punch and knocked out one bearing and removed the clip for the other. Just reversed the process. Also while there I replaced the sensor for the head spindle. Two screws and unplugged and replaced. Easy process and made easier since I got all the parts at one time from one place. Great place!

The lathe headstock spindle was corroded and had burrs on the threads where face plates mount causing it to spin out of round

Watched a youtube video on replacing the bearings in a Jet lathe. Just like replacing a belt, but once the spindle was removed, knocked out the bearings with a dowel and hammer. Replaced the bearings with new ones, replaced the spindle with a new one. Runs true and great. Total cost was about $150, less than a new set of lathe tools. Well worth it and the parts were perfect.

I disconnected the power and then released the belt tension. Took the hand wheel off, there are two set screws. In the spindle you have two setscrews, loosen both of them so that the spindle will move freely. The lock in front part of the head it has three screws to take out and the cover will come off but watch out for the spring from the lock spindle. Next, take the wooden mallet and hit the end of the spindle to knock it out watch out for the KEY in the spindle it's not very big you could lose it. To put it back together do everything in reverse.
