Screwdriver, Torxs bits required on the makita shop vac disassembly

Pretty simple repair. Remove the top of the vacuum using two different size torx bits. Take photos or remove the wires and tubes one at a time and transfer them to the new board/switch. Knob is held on with a flat head set screw. Reassemble being careful to route wires so they aren’t pinched.

Vacuum wouldn't start. I believe the switch was bad but you can't get just the switch. you have to replace the whole circuit board.

Remove the top cover of vac by removing a handful of torx screws to expose the motor and circuit board and then swap out the circuit board connections one by one.

The timer switch was bad

Removed the outer cover. Removed mounting screws from the printed circuit board. Removed electrical wiring one wire at a time and installed that wire in the same location on the new printed circuit . Next move the 2 vacuum hoses from the board to the same locations on the new board. Install the new board and outer cover. Check operation of vacuum.
