split motor from mechanical end. Next time make sure rotor is locked so it will stay in position according to the brushes. Pulled snap ring. tapped on broken anvil until free of housing. Be sure to account for 4 dowels. removed broken anvil reassemble in reverse order. torque 4 retaining screws carefully so as not to crack plastic housing. If rotor does shift and brushes unload, use a vise to hold anvil assembly and use two thin flat wires to hold the brushes in by routing through the plastic vent fins, then slide winding assembly down carefully so that windings can be released at the correct position.
