    Remove the blade bolt and the blade support then the blade. Remove the blade adapter. Install the new adapter, lining up the key with the keyway in the shaft. Install the blade, blade support and the new blade bolt

    Remove the blade bolt and blade support then the blade. I had to tap the adapter with a mallet to remove it from the shaft. Clean the shaft off. Place the adapter so that the key inside of it lines up with the key way in the engine shaft, then give it a little tap with the mallet. Attach the blade and the blade support, then tighten the blade bolt. Finished.

    1. Remove blade bolt and blade.
    2. Remove broken adapter.
    3. Place new adapter over engine shaft and bump until seated with palm of hand.
    4 Reinstall blade, crush washer, and bolt.

    Lubricated adapter a little and slid it on engine shaft . Then I placed the blade and lock plate on adapter, started the bolt and tightened with ratchet and socket.

    Removed blade. Replaced with a new adapter purchased from the site. The new part was a perfect fit. Reinstalled the blade and was back in business.

    The blade adapter broke when the blade hit an object

    1. The blade was removed by placing vice grip pliers to the frame to act as a stop. A socket was used with a cheater bar to remove the nut holding the blade assembly. The bent blade was discarded.

    2. The new adapter was placed on the shaft, however, the shat was 1.0625" in diameter with a straight notch. The new adapter was approximately 1.025" with a notch with edges. The edges had to be removed and the interior diameter was filed.

    3. The new adapter was then installed with a small sledge to force it into place. A new blade with then installed.

    4. The bolt was replaced and torqued.

    Removed spark plug wire ,turned mower on its side. replaced bell blade support and blade adapter installed new flex cap screw'..turned mower to proper position put spark plug wire back
