The junction of left burner tube and cross tube finally deteriorated away after eleven years of use.
1. Simply removed all the grates and flavor triangles.
2. Cleaned out the areas where the burner assembly is screwed down in the rear corners of the grill. Then removed those two screws.
3. Removed the old burner assembly. Discarded the old assembly.
4. Since my electric ignition system hasn't worked in years due to the AA battery leaking acid in the ignition unit, I also removed the three new igniter/spark generators from the new burner assembly. I light my grill with a butane wand.
4. Simply put the new assembly in place, replaced the two screws that secure the assembly into the grill.
5. Test fired the burners to see if all burners worked and were adjustable from the front controls.
6. Replaced the flavor triangles, the grates and test fired the system again.
7. Grilled some of the best chicken ever that night.

  • Burner replacement.
Would have been an easy replacement except that the little wings on the ends of the burner tubes were a little too big. Once I managed to wiggle them into place the unit worked fine.
