My compresor is use just a little time every month but yesterday I was using an small air hammer and works fine , then my compresor don't hold pressure any more I let ir run for a while and only reach to 20 psi what can be the problem?!!!

Hello Gonzalo, thank you for your question. The most common reason behind a reciprocating compressor's inability to reach sufficient pressure is a defective reed valve Compressor reed valves are thin steel flaps fastened to the valve plate. Reed valves allow refrigerant into and out of each cylinder as the piston travels up and down the cylinder wall. Most compressors have reed valves located under the head. Before starting, look up torque specifications and know what gaskets you will need. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call.
