This is an original part from the GE manufacturer. The sensor assembly is compatible with many ovens. Often fitted in the broil assembly, the sensor measures the temperature and sends the information to the electronic control. A wrench and a screwdriver are often necessary for the repair. The sensor assembly is sold individually. Please remember to unplug the appliance and close off the gas valve before making the installation.

Just unscrew 2 screws pull sensor and unplug,
Plugin new sensor screw in and turn on.

1. located the sensor to be replaced after turning off the circuit breaker
2. removed the back panel on the stove
3. unplugged the old sensor
4. one person on each side of the stove, one in back and one in front removed the old sensor and plugged in the new sensor.
5. replaced the back of the stove and put back in place.
6. reset the circuit breaker and it worked just fine!

Oven temp ran away higher than set temperature cake inside caught fire

1. Cleaned extinguisher residue.
2. Removed the oven door.
3. Replaced the temperature sensor
Tilted stove forward had someone else hold it.
Disconnected electrical leads from old control
Removed plastic faceplate and glued to new control assy.* best to buy control with faceplate already attached.
Reconnected leads to new control assy.
