Product Description ?

This is an authentic part that is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer for Craftsman and Tecumseh pressure washers, lawn mowers, and snow blowers. When pulled, the starter rope engages starter spring causing the engine turn fast enough for the ignition module to generate a spark to ignite the fuel in the cylinder. This part is made of nylon rope and is sold individually. To install the rope you will need a screwdriver and socket wrench. Turn the starter spring to build tension and recoil the rope inside.

The starter rope I received was not the one I ordered . It was more flimsy than the picture. I started a return and was surprised how easy it was and the fact that you didn’t even want the original back . My money was returned promptly and in Full ! Thank you !!

After removing the pull starter unit, remove any rope left inside the winding wheel. Line up the two holes where the rope gets inserted into. Wind the wheel counterclockwise 4-5 times completely around(before inserting rope). Using a paper clip insert and temporarily twist and secure it into the winding wheel and case to prevent the wheel from unwinding itself. Burn ends of rope to prevent undoing of rope. Insert the rope into the winding wheel and casing( use a paper clip to fish the rope through). Once the rope is through both holes, make a knot at the end of the rope on the winding wheel end. Pull the remaining loose rope out through the case hole. Insert and pull rope through starter handle and make knot at end of rope. Remove paper clip from winding wheel and case and allow for winding wheel to return itself slowly. If rope is too long, mark and pull enough rope out. Hold in place and make new knot without cutting excess yet. If satisfactory, cut remaining excess rope.
