This is a genuine OEM part. The GE refrigerator light switch is constructed of metal, wiring encased in plastic. When the door is opened, this item lights the interior of the refrigerator. The spring loaded switch is generally secured at the base of the refrigerator. A screwdriver and needle nose pliers are helpful for the installation. The refrigerator light switch is sold individually.

Popped out with screwdriver the old switch and unplugged the two wires. Plugged in the wires to the new switch and pushed it back in the hole where the old switch was before.

1. Removed old switch with some difficulty.
2. Connected wiring to new switch.
3. Mounted new switch in freezer base plate.

1. Pulled out fridge and unplugged it.
2. Popped out old switch by wedging putty knife under old one (a few light taps with the hammer helped)
3. Unplugged old switch and plugged in new one.
4. Pressed back into place
5. Plugged in fridge and pushed it back into place

Took out 3 screws then disconnect two wires then replace the switch, then reconnect the wires and screw the switch housing back in.
