I used my socket set to remove the the scraper bar & skid shoes. Once I got the old pieces off I used my grinding tool to remove the excess dirt & paint that had chipped off. I then went out & bought paint primer & paint & went over the parts where the paint had peeled & where the rust started showing. I also replace some hardware items.

Removed the 2 cover cap screws, and then removed the retaining pin from the chute gear. Then removed the lock nut from the bolt holding the pinion gear. I was then able to replace the chute gear, pinion gear, friction plate, compression spring, and all washers with new replacement parts. The job took about a 1/2 hour as I took my time an ... Removed the old scraper blade and installed the new one. I needed 3 mounting bolts, 3 nuts and 3 washers to attach the scraper blade.
