My chute gear on my Ariens snow blower was worn and didn\'t rotate all the way to the right.

My ereplacement\'s part arrived promptly and I disassembled the chute assembly and installed the new gear piece quickly. I actually used the ereplacement\'s chute schematics from the website to insure I put all the pieces back in t he proper order. Since I had the chute assembly apart I lubed up all the moving parts with grease or oil and put it all back together.

The chute turns completely in both directions now.

This worked out great.

Removed the 2 cover cap screws, and then removed the retaining pin from the chute gear. Then removed the lock nut from the bolt holding the pinion gear. I was then able to replace the chute gear, pinion gear, friction plate, compression spring, and all washers with new replacement parts. The job took about a 1/2 hour as I took my time an d the chute now works like new.
