The spring goes between the spool and the housing and is available individually. If this part becomes broken or bent it will need to be replaced. During installation, a wrench may be needed to replace the metal spring. This is an authentic replacement part sourced from the original manufacturer for use with Shindaiwa brushcutters and trimmers.
Removed old housing.
Installed new housing in reverse order per removing old housing.
Worked perfectly since the ereplacement parts were exactly the same as the manufacters. I tried a less expense third party solution without success.
