This item has been sourced from the original manufacturer and is intended to be used with trimmers and brushcutters from Shindaiwa. The durable plastic cap is used to support the spool and bump. This item aligns with the tabs on the housing and secures the spool within the housing. This item is available as an individual replacement part.
Removed old housing.
Installed new housing in reverse order per removing old housing.
Worked perfectly since the ereplacement parts were exactly the same as the manufacters. I tried a less expense third party solution without success.
Removed old head from trimmer, drove out securing bolt with punch using plastic peen hammer. Drove securing bolt into new head, installed eyelets, installed Titanium String with old spool, attached new cover and screwed head back onto trimmer.
