This is an authentic OEM part. The click ratchet spool gear is designed for use with several Penn fishing reels. The plastic gear is fitted next to the spool gear lock ring in the spool assembly. This item is often coordinated with with a pawl or click tongue, that signals the user when a fish has taken the bait. It is advisable when removing multiple parts to keep careful track of their order so they can be reassembled correctly. This item is sold individually. A screwdriver is required for the installation.

Disassembled the reel and replaced the broken gear. Reassembled and tested. Works like new!

Idler gear deteriorated. Level wind ceased to work. Reel is almost 20 years old and has cranked in a lot of fish.

Removed the necessary screws and side plates. Cleaned and lubricated all internal components. Removed and replaced damaged parts. Reassembled, and now operates good as new.

Upon opening the reel, saw 2 stripped gears. Ordered by pictures and cat # online. Parts came 5 days later. Fixed reel easily. Since fix, I\'ve caught 2 18lb salmon, and a bunch of rockfish on that reel. Signed, The Happy Fisherman.
