Blade guard broken from saw being dropped.

Take the blade off, retract the guard, unhook the spring, remove the retaining ring (with retaining pliers), slip out the old guard, slip in the new one, then put things back into place.

Removed blade first, the blade guard had a keeper on it that was a little hard to remove, they do make a tool for removing this keeper. I Used a screwdriver, took longer but worked ok. Probably took 10minutes.

Removed the broken guard and spring
Screwed the new lever on the guard
Then reinstalled the guard
Hooked one end of the spring to the guard, the other end to the housing

Broken blade guard

Remove blade, remove washer, remove o-ring, pull off broken guard, install replacement guard , install ring, washer, blade & install & tighten nut.

Be sure its unplugged. Remove the blade next using snap ring pliers remove the snap ring and detach the return spring. Lift broken cover straight up and off the saw. Transfer the plastic knob held with Phillip screw onto the new guard.....then place on saw..connect the return spring. Replace the snap ring and blade .be sure to install b lade the right way. Rick

Removed rubber sleeve via screw
Removed retainer ring
Disconnect spring and remove safety cover

Replace new safety cover and attach spring
Install retainer ring
Replace new rubber sleeve with screw
Reinstall blade
