Remove tightening knob on upper boom and remove the original lower part of the boom.Take off the guard then the head of weed eater at the end of the boom. Once both of these are off, attach both to the end of the new lower boom. Once on, attach to upper part and you\'re ready to go.

The string wasn\'t feeding so I smacked the head harder to feed the string and bent the lower shaft so I needed to replace it

Loosened the screws holding the shaft
Removed the string guard and the gear head
Replaced with the new shaft and gear head
Tighten the screws up and good to go

2. Removed the anti rotation screw.
3. Removed the rotating head assembly.
4. Loosened the locking knob in the coupling.

Removed the old shaft. Assembled new gear box on new shaft and coupled it to the main body. Put the new head on and Its working.

I found out I ordered the wrong lower tube but the gear box works great . I needed the lower tube that has the button on side of tube for different attachments instead of the one that just slides in .
