This heat diffuser is a genuine Char-Broil replacement part. It is made specifically for the Char-Broil 4 Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner. This part is designed to reduce fire flare-ups caused by grease drippings from food. It is made of metal and sold individually. Wearing work gloves during the installation of this part is recommended.
I took out the old parts. The burners were the hardest to remove because the screws were rusted. I had to drill them out. Otherwise it went together very well. Many parts were rusted out. Burner leaked gas. Carryover tubes completely inoperative. Diffusers rusted into pieces.
1. Removed Grill and Heat Diffusers. Replaced Heat shield (two easy screws).
2. Used pliers to remove rusted carryover tube screws (most time consuming)
3. Replaced burner and installed carryover tubes (just a few screws).
4. Installed new Heat Diffusers (set them in) and put grill back.
1. Laid out all the parts and got the tools.
2. Took everything apart
3. Hooked the tubes up to the burners
4. Replaced the heat diffusers
5. Replaced the heat tent
6. Replaced the grease tray and pan
7. Tried grill to make sure everything worked
