This item is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Penn fishing reels. The purpose of this left side worm bearing is to help secure the worm and allow it to rotate with minimum friction. Over time this component may wear out, get damaged or lost eventually requiring a replacement. Keep in mind one high-quality plastic part is included. Refer to the appropriate diagrams of your model for the exact location and the correct installation. Replacing this component will require a screwdriver set to take apart the reel.
