This part includes 1 brass olive and 1 brass insert. You will need a 5 mm allen wrench for this repair. This repair is simple and should only take a few minutes. To access this part, you will need to remove the brake pads from the caliper. Remove the rubber cover located on the lever, undo the bolt, and pull the line out. You will now see the old olive on the end of this line. The line can now be cut. Before you perform the cut, make sure you can spin the handlebars almost 180 degrees around without the cables restricting the movement. Use a hammer to place the new insert into place. It is important that the insert is flush to the cable and there is not a visible gap between the connector insert and the housing. Slide the new olive onto the cable. Reassemble. It is important to note that an olive and insert can never be reused. During installation they are crushed down to form a tight seal between the lever and the housing.
