This blower motor, commonly known as the evaporator fan motor, is sourced from the original equipment manufacturer for use in refrigerators. It is responsible for circulating cold air in the refrigerator, to keep the interior cool. A faulty motor will result in inconsistent and higher temperatures inside the appliance, potential food spoilage, and leaking. Disconnect the refrigerator from the power before beginning the repair. Locate the motor inside the freezer compartment and remove the wiring and mounting hardware. Pull the unit out of the compartment and replace it with the new motor. Reconnect the wire connectors to the new unit and secure it in place with the appropriate fasteners.
