Product Description ?

This is a set of two brake shoes. They are for V-Brake shoes, which are standard for aluminum rims. They can also be referred to as brake pads. You will find this part attached to the caliper arm. They are good for wet conditions, low noise, and low rim wear and fade. Your brake pads should be checked for wear about every 500 miles or once a month. This all depends on your cycling conditions. If you are inspecting your brake pads and notice the thread disappears, they will need to be replaced. They should be replaced if they are worn out, contaminated, or for performance reasons.
To repair this part, first, release the quick release mechanism on the cable, and undo the brake pads with an allen key. Ensure the spacers are lined up in the correct order before you install the new brake pads. Take note of the pad curve and line it up with the curve of the wheel. Open the caliper, insert the pad and install all the spacers. Hand tighten, and line it up, squeeze the calipers together and install the quick release mechanism back on the cable. Tighten the bolts on both sides, ensuring the pads are aligned and flat. The caliper arm should be close to vertical as the pad hits the rim. Take note of where the spacers are before you pull off the old brake pads. Check to ensure the spring tension is equal on both sides by squeezing the brake. If one side moves more than the other, you will need to adjust this. You will do this by adjusting the adjusting screw on the spring tension.
